Master Kush is a 95-percent Indica, five percent Sativa hybrid derived from Hindu Kush and Skunk #1. This strain, which has been a Dutch coffee shop favourite for many years, won first prize in the 1994 Hydro section of the Cannabis Cup. Master Kush was originally known as High Rise because resourceful growers first created it in one of Amsterdam’s towering residential blocks.
Once you fire it up, this weed has a sweet smell with a hint of earthy and woody tones while the taste is a complex mixture of fruity flavours including lemon and pine. This is a powerful smoke with a heavy body stone that may lead to couchlock accompanied by a strong mind buzz. In medical use, it’s recommended for anxiety, insomnia and muscular pain relief.
This is a relatively short plant, reaching a height of about 50 to 80 centimetres although it will grow higher outdoors if left to its own devices. The spreading, serrated leaves are light to medium green and the pale green, frosted buds are dense with whitish-orange hairs. The THC content is a healthy 15 to 20 percent.
The Master Kush strain will grow indoors using hydroponics with the SCROG or SOG methods and outdoors in a suitably hot and sunny climate. The flowering time is about seven weeks and careful cultivators can harvest up to 500 grams per square metre with indoor growing. Outdoor harvest time is October.
If you’re looking for an Indica Kush plant that produces good yields, strong stone and consistent results, you won’t go far wrong with Master Kush. High sales in Dutch coffee shops provide good evidence of its desirable qualities, better than can be written down in a Master Kush review.
